How to retrieve your corrupted or deleted /t3home
and /work
files
Every user can retrieve from snapshots corrupted or deleted files from
/t3home
or
/work
.
Choose a snapshot dir and copy back either to
/t3home/$USER
(or
/work/$USER
) what you need by
cp
command.
/t3home example:
$ cd /t3home/$USER/.snapshot
$ ls
daily.2019-02-26_0010 daily.2019-02-27_0010 monthly.2019-02-01_0010 weekly.2019-02-24_001
/work snapshot location example
Since October 2019 there is an option for user to create a snapshot of workspace.
Please contact administrators for more information.
$ cd /work/$USER/.zfs/snapshot
[martinelli_f@t3ui01 ~]$ cd /work/$USER/.zfs/snapshot
[martinelli_f@t3ui01 snapshot]$ ls -l
dr-xr-xr-x 1 root root 0 Dec 10 18:44 zfssnap-day-20161207-011142 <-- Max 2 past days
dr-xr-xr-x 1 root root 0 Dec 10 18:44 zfssnap-day-20161208-014735
In a case of /work
please be aware that if your deleted files are still referenced in snapshots, this will affect your /work
space quota (snapshot is a PART OF QUOTA). In that case deleted files are saved in this snapshot and snapshot grows in space correspondingly. Till snapshot itself is deleted you do not get a free space .
It's a rare event to run over quota and that actually means that you're frequently adding/removing big files in your
/work
, while you have to use the UI/WN
/scratch
or the
/pnfs
areas for that purpose!

/work
usage is published here:
