Scheduled maintenance on 2010-05-22

The next first working Monday of the month we will go into Scheduled Downtime. It will last from 9:00 to 18:00, but we will return to operation as soon as we finish.

As usual, CMS and Atlas queues will be closed 24 hours before the maintenance, and LHCb queue will close 48 hours before the maintenance.

Summary of interventions

We will perform the following operations on the cluster:

• se02 / se07 DIMM replacement
• dCache update to 1.9.5-25
• glibc security upgrade on servers

se02 / se07 DIMM replacement

Description: There are some faulty DIMM chips that need to be replaced Affected nodes: se02 and se07. A full dCache stop is required.

dCache update to 1.9.5-25

Description: There is a security bug on the previous version of dCache that needs to be resolved. Affected nodes: all dCache nodes

glibc security upgrade on servers

Description: There is a security bug on the glibc version installed in the service nodes. The compute nodes have already been upgraded. Affected nodes: Cream, Arc, Lustre, dCache.
