It makes sense that a Tier-2 can exercise control over its own inbound channels. Our primary channels are hosted by our Tier-1 at FZK: * FZK-CSCS * STAR-CSCS The FZK FTS endpoint is =https://fts2-fzk.gridka.de:8443/glite-data-transfer-fts/services/${servicename}=. Endpoints for all centers can be found through the BDII. E.g. you can use the following command for finding all endpoints for CMS:
lcg-infosites --vo cms fts
Using this information one can run queries like this:
FTSEP=glite-transfer-channel-list -s https://fts2-fzk.gridka.de:8443/glite-data-transfer-fts/services $> glite-transfer-channel-list -s $FTSEP/ChannelManagement FZK-CSCS Channel: FZK-CSCS Between: FZK-LCG2 and CSCS-LCG2 State: Inactive Contact: (null) Bandwidth: 0 Nominal throughput: 0 Number of files: 10, streams: 1 Number of VO shares: 4 VO 'cms' share is: 40 VO 'ops' share is: 10 VO 'dteam' share is: 10 VO 'atlas' share is: 40 $> glite-transfer-channel-set -s $FTSEP/ChannelManagement -S Inactive STAR-CSCS
---++ Links May be partially obsolete....... * [[http://gridmon.fzk.de/fts/fts-page.pl][FZK channel monitoring]] Ganglia pages. * [[http://www.gridka.de/SC/fts/index.html][FZK parameter]] settings for all channels. * [[https://twiki.cern.ch/twiki/bin/view/EGEE/FTS][EGEE FTS pages]] containing documentation and FAQ. * A generic presentation (powerpoint) about the FTS and how it's supposed to work can be found. [[https://twiki.cern.ch/twiki/pub/EGEE/FTSPresentationsPage/FTS_EGEEUserForum06.ppt][here]]. * A paper that is going to be published in the HPDC conference is [[%ATTACHURL%/transfer.pdf][attached to this page]]. * [[https://twiki.cern.ch/twiki/bin/view/LCG/FtsRelease15][Detailed pages]] on the latest 1.5 version of the FTS. * [[https://twiki.cern.ch/twiki/bin/view/LCG/LCGServiceChallenges][Service Challenge Pages]] ---++ Things to know The documentation is quite unorganized as of May29 2006. It is important to note that all of the (good) documentation is in the man pages of the =glite-transfer-= executables. So the best way of getting to know how to use the FTS is to list all glite-transfer commands and reading through their man pages. A very important tool to know is called =glite-transfer-discovery= which will look in the information system trying to find the FTS endpoint that needs to be contacted to run the given transfer. -- Main.PeterKunszt - 29 May 2006
