PSI Tier-3 Steering board meeting

Proposed Agenda:

  • Discussion of Scheduling Policies and Resource quotas
    • presentation of resource usage over the last years and statistics
    • discussion of batch system policies
      • experiences with the new policies
      • discussion of and agreement on parameters for queues short.q, all.q, long.q and their associated quotas
    • description of priority calculation (UL is asking for this)

  • Upgrades of the system and rolling replacement. Financing
    • presentation of Storage expansion options
    • plans for evolving the system in 2012 and further
    • next major SW upgrades
      • dcache migration to new DB backend (Chimera). 1-2 days of downtime. Would like to do it in Dec. Will need a preparatory half-day downtime about 2-4 weeks before that to bring system to newest release before the migration.

  • Miscellaneous
    • clarification about T3-usage for non-CMS publications (UL)
    • clarification about (home) disk quota (overusage) and deciding body (UL)
    • clarification about what exactly happened in the first week of October (UL)
    • discussion about user expectations for T3 (UL)
    • change of usage model to reflect the changed MC generation policy (UL)
