Since 15.08.2014 the T3 batch queues have been extended by four new SL6 WNs t3wn[41,43,44,50] to allow the T3 users to submit their SL6 jobs:

to submit the SL6 jobs the users can:

  • login to a SL6 UI t3ui[12,15,16,17,18,19] and submit the jobs from there; this is the simplest way, when a job is launched from a SL6 UI the batch system automatically requests a SL6 WN ( implicit -l os=sl6 request ).
  • from a SL5 UI t3ui0[2-9], by explicitely adding -l os=sl6 to the qsub command; conversely when a job is launched from a SL5 UI the batch system automatically requests a SL5 WN ( implicit -l os=sl5 request ).

Be aware that the CMSSW and the ROOT releases available in the SL6 WNs are different from the releases installed in SL5 WNs environment ; if you need a missing release please contact us by e-mail to cms-tier3 AT lists.psi.ch with cms-tier3-users AT lists.psi.ch in Cc to get it installed ; furthermore the grid commands present in the SL6 WNs are more updated than their SL5 WNs equivalent so their behaviour maybe different.
