Grid middleware and experimental software

The worker nodes require some grid tools to be able to interact with SE (and maybe some other grid services). The grid tools are currently obtained via nfs from our central software server. Look there for installation instructions.

Enforcing limits for user jobs

Use /etc/security/limits.conf to enforce some limits on number of processes and memory usage to keep the system stable, e.g.

# /etc/security/limits.conf
# Avoid the problem with limited stack:
* soft stack unlimited
* hard stack unlimited
* soft memlock unlimited
* hard memlock unlimited

# limits for the batch queue users
