Scheduled Downtime on 2010-06-07
CSCS is going to have a general network maintenance from 8:30 to 10:45 that will affect all the services in the site. We will take this oportunity to perform some needed operations in our Phoenix Cluster.
All queues will be drained three days before. We will reserve an scheduled downtime until Tuesday 8th at 17:00 for safety, but will open the queues and exit the downtime as soon as we check all the systems work properly.
Summary of interventions
- Change the old ce01 to the new one with PhaseC WN behind it
- Upgrade of dCache version
- Improvement of network redundancy layout
- Possible glite/OS updates
Change the old ce01 to the new one with PhaseC WN behind it
As announced before,
PhaseB is being decommissioned, but the old ce01 name is going to be kept to avoid external changes.
ce01 will be shut down, and replaced by a new ce01 with new configuration and share the same worker nodes as now has ce02.
Upgrade of dCache version
The current version of dCache (1.9.5-17) will be replaced by the next recommended version: 1.9.5-19
Improvement of network redundancy layout
With the network maintenance, CSCS improves network redundancy. We need to apply some changes in the current Phoenix Cluster to take advantage of it.
Possible glite/OS updates
If by that time a new glite revision is released, or any OS security patch, we will apply it.
