• CSCS (reports Pablo):
  • Vacation period status
  • Entering Phase E
    • Computing Expansion. AMD CPUs on all 10 Dalco nodes were updated to Interlagos, increasing the cluster capacity by 252 HS06 and 80 job slots.
    • Storage Thumpers substitution. All Thumpers are empty and switched off. Replacement has also provided some extra space, rising our total to 1.11 PB (base10), or 557 TB per experiment.
    • Lustre to GPFS migration. Lustre is finally out of our system, leaving us with GPFS only. No software raids, two copies per file, metadata in SSD.
  • Next purchase: Phase F worker nodes for the new building

• PSI (reports Fabio):
  • Migrated LDAP, Ganglia services from out of warranty HWs to 2 VMWare VMs
  • Ongoing: Migration of Syslog-ng service from out of warranty HW to a VMWare VM
  • Improved the Puppet configurations
  • On UIs and WNs introduced custom RPM quota-3.17-1.2.5 on /tmp and /scratch:
    • User quota abuse ? e-mail to that user according to the LDAP e-mail user entry.
    • How much space are the users of this server(s) using ? They run sudo /usr/sbin/repquota -s /scratch, or /tmp
  • Got 2 new HP servers like new dCache pools
    • HW details: 2 Processor x2.5/E5649 DL380 G7, 12MB L3 Cache, 80W ; 6*8GB RAM 1333MHz ; 2*300GB SAS disks
    • Waiting for Storage: SGI IS5500, 2 FC Controllers + 1 Expansion: (60+60)*3TB raw space.
  • Waiting for new 11 Dalco WNs.
